Connected to Israel
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6
What we believe about Israel
We believe in our connection with God’s people Israel. The church of Jesus Christ has its roots in the biblical Jewish people, and there is blessing in loving, blessing, honouring and respecting that people. We believe that God has not rejected His people Israel and that the church has not replaced Israel, but that believers from the nations have become fellow heirs of the promise through Jesus Christ. God has given both His people Israel and the church a decisive, but distinct, role in the outworking of His plan of salvation.

What we do
Pray
Every first Sunday of the month we pray in the service for the peace of Jerusalem. Every week there is a prayer time for Israel at De Basis, and the Israel small group meets every fortnight for worship and intercession.
Celebrate
Once a month the Israel working group hosts a Shabbat meal on Friday evening. We celebrate Passover with a Seder meal, hold a praise and worship evening around the Feast of Tabernacles and mark the Day of Atonement with a study and a day of prayer and fasting.
Learn and support
We regularly invite speakers for theme evenings and courses. We support mission trips to Israel and take up an extra offering for projects in Israel once a year. The library at De Basis has books about Israel.
